PLS PermissionsDirect is designed for publishers that would like to manage their own permission requests using our intuitive online permissions tool, PLSclear. PermissionsDirect is perfect for publishers who already have a permissions team in place but would like to streamline current procedures and save staff time and frustration.
PermissionsDirect gives your permissions team the right tools to manage permissions more efficiently.
It is free to sign up to PLS Permissions Direct and there are no annual subscription fees or set up costs to use the service. We instead charge a 12% handling fee on payable on paid-for licences only. There are no fees for requests granted a licence free of charge or for requests that do not end in a licence. Email info@pls-permissions.com to sign up to PLS Permissions Direct.
If you want PLS to manage your permissions on your behalf, PLS PermissionsAssist may be right for you instead.
Publishers using PLSclear can use the system as a workflow tool to respond to requests with minimal admin time or fully automate some or all of the requests coming through PLSclear for their titles.
“Since making the transition to using PLS Permissions services, we have been able to provide a quicker, far more efficient service to those seeking permission. It has saved us time and allowed us to simplify our process and focus on the important aspects of permissions, whilst avoiding getting delayed by mechanical processes. So far PLS Permissions is proving to be a real game-changer.”

For publishers already signed up to PLS, we simply need a signed agreement from you in order to opt you into the service.
Publishers not currently signed up to PLS would need to provide a list of their titles and ISBNs for us to add to your account. We can also accept ONIX feeds. Request a copy of the agreement by emailing info@pls-permissions.com.
Publishers signed up to Permissions Direct can then begin managing their permissions through PLSclear right away. You also have the option to set up automated licensing for free, paid for, and STM permissions requests.
PLS offer bespoke training for your permissions teams as well as monthly webinars for publishers to learn how to use PLSclear to manage their permissions and keep up with the latest developments.
We also request publishers opted into PLS Permissions include the PLSclear widget on their website to direct permissions queries via PLSclear.com.
